Port Distance Calculator
Estimate the great-circle distance and approximate transit time between major world ports.
Great-circle estimate between port approaches. Real sea routes are longer — land masses, canals, and chokepoints are not included here. Voyage Intel Pro plans actual routes with weather and safety logic.
How it works
What this estimate means — and what it doesn't.
Great-circle distance
The shortest path over the Earth's surface between port approach coordinates, computed with the haversine formula and reported in nautical miles and kilometres.
Transit-time estimate
Distance divided by the service speed you select — a planning approximation only, not a schedule. Weather, currents, traffic separation schemes, and port approaches all affect real voyages.
Not a route plan
Sea routes must round land and pass through canals and chokepoints, so real distances are longer than a great-circle line. Operational voyage planning is what Voyage Intel Pro is built for.
Get in touch
Need the real route, not the straight line?
Voyage Intel Pro plans actual sea routes with weather, constraints, and offline-first intelligence.
