About the data
What this directory shows.
Public-domain source
Records derive from the U.S. National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency World Port Index (Pub. 150) — an unclassified U.S. Government reference used across the shipping industry.
Reference positions
Coordinates are WPI port reference positions, not berths or terminals. Depths and size classes are the published WPI values for the port as a whole — always confirm berth-level detail in official port publications.
ECA flags are indicative
Emission Control Area flags mark ports falling inside a designated area — a screening aid for fuel planning, not a compliance determination. Verify obligations under MARPOL Annex VI for your vessel and voyage.
